  6.    Questar Productions is proud to announce our flagship product,
  7. World Construction Set (WCS), the next generation of computer
  8. terrain modeling software. WCS' powerful renderer sets new standards
  9. in photo-realism, producing images that are often mistaken for
  10. actual photographs. Our ecosystem modeling approach combines
  11. familiar 3D imaging techniques with Nature's own processes to
  12. deliver scenes of sublime beauty and lifelike detail to your Amiga.
  13. The days of orchard-like forests and pipe-cleaner trees are gone
  14. forever!

  16.    WCS shatters the perception that terrain renderers must be
  17. limited to small geographic areas and sparse detail. At the heart of
  18. our system is a sophisticated GIS (Geographic Information System)
  19. database, using real-world coordinates and allowing for an unlimited
  20. number of objects. The flexibility of this design enables accurate
  21. depiction of landscapes and vector information at any scale.
  22. On-demand object loading in the render process permits great numbers
  23. of high-resolution data sets to be utilized without utilizing great
  24. amounts of memory. For example, rendering the entire state of
  25. Colorado in 90-meter square samples results in a mind-boggling 80
  26. million polygons, and can be done using only 8Mb of RAM! Since WCS
  27. perceives every landscape as a portion of the entire globe, horizon
  28. curvature is automatically accounted for. High-resolution DEM sets
  29. covering the entire United States and lower-resolution global data
  30. sets are available from the USGS and Questar Productions. One could
  31. even animate a continuous pull-back from viewing a single meadow to
  32. soaring over the entire planet.

  34.    WCS can also present information about a variety of natural and
  35. man-made features using vector objects. (Vector objects are entities
  36. composed of straight line segments or points, and are used to depict
  37. streams, roads, political boundaries, coastlines, buildings, etc.)
  38. These objects can be imported from many sources or digitized and
  39. edited in our 2D or 3D perspective view windows. Unlimited layer
  40. support eases grouping of vectors by type, location or any
  41. user-defined attribute. Line weights and colors are
  42. user-configurable, along with luminosity and other special effects
  43. (crawling ants). WCS' 2D map module is powerful enough to stand
  44. alone as a separate application. In combination with WCS' other
  45. modules, the power cannot be contained!
